Claudio Ranieri has been appointed the new manager of Fulham following Slavisa Jokanovic’s sacking, the Premier League club have confirmed.Jokanovic leaves with the Craven Cottage club bottom of the Premier League table having won just a single of their 12 matches to date.His final game was Sunday’s 2-0 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield, which left the Cottagers three points off safety.Ranieri, 67, has been handed a multi-year contract. This is his first job in English football since guiding Leicester to the Premier League title in 2015/16 before being sacked in February 2017.The Italian said: “It is an honour to accept Mr. Khans invitation and opportunity to lead Fulham, a fantastic club with tradition and history. “The objective at Fulham should never be to merely survive in the Premier League. We must at all times be a difficult opponent and should expect to succeed.“This Fulham squad has exceptional talent that is contrary to its position in the table.
